Welcome to the Your Site

One of the biggest reasons that websites fail to produce their owners any results, is that they fail to plan how to gather information, and what they are going to do with it once they gather it.

The steps that are outlined here represent the plan for your site's development and growth. They are planned in a logical manner, and are not over ambitious in any way.

It is possible to implement this plan if we take a reasonable course of action.

We now come back to the very beginning of the site - the place people usually land when they visit for the first time. I've left this page to the end because you can take sections from the pages you've already created and adapt them for your home page. You need to have information on this page that will immediately generate attention and interest and motivate people to explore the rest of your site.

You have a few options here:

  • High graphic content and low information content
  • Low graphic content and high information content
  • Medium graphic content and medium information content

I am more in favor of two or three, never number one. I will tell you why once we get started on the project.

Step One

In the first step, we will take the time to create the basic pages of your site.  It will take you some time to gather your thoughts, and it will take some effort for you to reduce it to writing.  The following represent the pages that we will be creating, why we will be creating them and the order that we will be creating them. We aren't going to change much about this format, because it is one that has always worked.

Step Two

"So it’s up and running... Now What?"

This is usually the place where people start slowing down.  The site is up and running, and they figure they can sit back now and watch the money roll in.

If it were that easy, don't you think everyone would be doing it?

Step Three

"Let's do some selling!"

So now you have your contacts in a format and usable.  What do you do with them? This is the month that you learn how to use those e-mail addresses and other information to help market to your current customers. .

Step Four

"Now it's time to use what you have"

So now you have your web site where it 'could' be a useful tool for your business, but you don't really know how to manage it yet.  You know that in order to keep people coming back, you have to provide new content for them.  They aren't going to show up on a daily basis to see the same information. But, when they do show up.. they still want to be able to find the information they found useful in the first place.
